Congratulations to Canton College Preparatory Academy on winning the coveted Gold School award at ACCELence2024, the annual leadership summit hosted by ACCEL Schools. The Gold School Award recognizes the highest-achieving schools in the ACCEL network that demonstrate strong academic outcomes and positive enrollment growth.

“With an overall PI of 61.03, a year-over-year PI increase of 7.33, and strong growth, Canton College Preparatory School is well deserving of the Gold Award,” said ACCEL Schools CEO Ron Packard who presented the awards on July 10^th. “It is an honor to recognize the staff and leadership who share our mission and strive to make quality education available to all children.”

Recognizing the hard work and success of schools, teachers, and principals is an important tradition at ACCEL Schools, a network of 98 public charter schools serving PK-12 students. The Accelys are awarded to schools with outstanding operational and academic results including student attendance, teacher retention, enrollment growth & retention, fiscal responsibility, benchmark assessments, and state testing. Additional awards recognize outstanding teachers and administrative leaders within the ACCEL Schools network.

The Local Wellness Policy is a written document that guides a local educational agency’s (LEA) or school district’s efforts to establish a school environment that promotes students’ health, well-being, and ability to learn. The Wellness Policy Committee has been created as an effort to manage and develop our school’s healthy habits.

» A Wellness Committee will be appointed to each school

» The committee may include parents and guardians, students, representatives of the school nutrition program, physical education teachers, or any other interested stakeholder that is aligned with the goals of the policy

» The committee shall meet a minimum of four times per year

We’re Celebrating a Decade of Distinction! Thank you Canton for your support and encouragement over the last decade. Watch our video celebrating this milestone with messages from our Principal and Dean of Academics & Culture.

Amid a national shortage of school bus drivers, schools are maximizing attendance by getting creative to encourage a strong academic start to the school year. At Canton College Preparatory School, that means chartering busses the first few weeks of school until district transportation becomes available. Principal Lindsay and Dean Young are riding the new routes alongside students to provide safety & assurance for parents.
