About our school

If you're trying to figure out whether this school actually works, Ohio gives you the answer. The state report card grades every school on student progress and gap closing — Canton College Prep earned 3 stars in both categories for the 2024-25 school year. The school’s Performance Index score climbed from 60.9 to 64.1 in a single year, part of a nearly 20% increase over the last two years.
Your child gets more than academic instruction here. The school is built around a whole-child college preparatory model — which means the program treats your child as a student with real strengths, real gaps, and a real future, not as a data point moving through grade levels. College-prep habits, social-emotional skills, and academic instruction are woven into the regular school day. They aren’t enrichment extras. They’re the method.
What makes Canton College Prep distinct is the intentionality behind it all — individualized instruction that meets each child where he or she is, a culture that's warm rather than transactional, and deep roots in the Canton community that give families a real sense of belonging from day one.
It's a publicly funded school. There's no tuition, no fees, and no cost to families.
- Free breakfast and lunch for all students.

Community School
Canton College Preparatory is a public, community school. We are our own school district sponsored by the Ohio Council of Community Schools (OCCS) which provides oversight and enforces academic, fiscal, and legal accountability. We are managed by ACCEL Schools, a high performing network of over 50 charter schools located throughout the United States.
Community Schools (Charter Schools) offer families an alternative to the local public school. Community schools are tuition-free, open to all students in the county, and focused on meeting student needs for success. Community schools are among the top-performing schools in the nation.
