Meet our team

Emily Berbelis proudly serves as Principal of Canton College Preparatory School, where she has dedicated her entire educational career to serving students, families, and staff. Since joining the school as its founding fourth-grade teacher in 2013, she has grown alongside the school community, serving as a third-grade teacher for nine years, Director of Academics for two years, and now Principal. Her journey reflects a deep commitment to the school’s mission and a passion for helping every student succeed. Mrs. Berbelis earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Walsh University. She also holds a K–12 Reading Endorsement, a Grades 4–5 Generalist Endorsement, and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership with Principal Licensure, also from Walsh University. Inspired by her father, who served as an educator and coach for 35 years, Mrs. Berbelis developed a passion for education at an early age. She believes every child deserves opportunities to learn, grow, and discover their potential, and she is dedicated to creating an environment where students are challenged, supported, and inspired to achieve their goals. As Principal, Mrs. Berbelis is committed to building upon the strong foundation that has made Canton College Preparatory School a trusted choice for families. She strives to strengthen the school’s relationships within the community while continuing to elevate academic excellence and helping every student develop the confidence to succeed both inside and outside the classroom. Mrs. Berbelis believes a positive school culture begins with supporting teachers. By investing in educators and fostering an environment where they feel valued and encouraged, she knows that enthusiasm and positivity extend into every classroom, creating engaging learning experiences where students can thrive academically and personally. Outside of school, Mrs. Berbelis enjoys spending time with her husband, Tony, and their two young children, Westley and Frances. A lifelong Disney enthusiast, she loves visiting Disney World with her family, reading, listening to Disney podcasts, attending sporting events, and watching documentaries, movies, and television dramas. Mrs. Berbelis is honored to continue leading the school she has called home for more than a decade and looks forward to building on Canton College Preparatory School’s tradition of excellence for years to come.

Mr. Darryl Lindsay joined Canton College Preparatory School in 2013 as founding Dean of Student Life & Management, and was promoted to Principal in 2017. Prior to ACCEL Schools, Mr. Lindsay worked as an educator in public and charter K-8 schools in Ohio, Florida, and Michigan.
